Privacy
The short version: no tracking cookies, no advertising, no selling or sharing of data, and no IP addresses stored. Last updated October 2026.
Visitor counts
To know which pages and events people find useful, the site counts visits. Each visitor gets a code made from their IP address and browser, scrambled with a secret that is replaced and thrown away every day. That lets us count unique visitors per day, but not recognize anyone from one day to the next or trace a code back to a person or address. We also note the page, the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer) and the website you came from (for example "Google" or "Facebook", never the full address). These counts are deleted after 400 days.
Cookies
Visitors get no cookies. The only cookie is a sign-in cookie on the administrator's own page.
Things you send us
- Submitted events: the details you enter are published once approved. Your email address, if you give one, is only used if we have a question about the event, and is never shown. Events are deleted a month after they end.
- Contact messages and problem reports: kept so we can answer them, then deleted a year after they're dealt with.
- Spam protection: to limit how often a form can be sent, we keep a scrambled version of your IP address for up to a day.
Other services your browser contacts
- Google Fonts supplies the site's typefaces, so Google receives your IP address when pages load.
- Event images are loaded from the organizers' own websites, which can see that an image was loaded.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that forms are sent by a person, not a program, and processes information about your browser to do so.
- Map, calendar and share buttons take you to Google, Facebook, X and others only when you click them.
- Our web host, like all hosts, keeps standard technical logs of requests for security and troubleshooting.
